Herb tips and Flux Methods

This is the most desired item in Life is Feudal. No wonder: It makes every large building project possible! But gathering the herbs to make just a single flux is mind boggling.

So you want to make a small house or a warehouse? Cool, you'll need 4 flux for that warehouse and 16 flux for that small house. Don't know how to make flux? Cool, that's why I'm here!

After a long and tiring day of experimenting on quick ways to make flux I have narrowed it down to three possible ways to get as much flux as possible.

Method 1: You just got all the basic items and now you want a better looking and better secured building to hold all those precious items you loot/make. We'll use a warehouse for this example.

Now you want to start by leveling your natures lore to 60 to unlock gathering right? Wrong, you want to get natures lore to 90 so you can find pristine herbs and higher quality herbs. The higher your natures lore, the more herbs you find just by doing the action "search for herbs". If your Natures lore is level 90 you will find around 10-15 herbs just be searching one singular tile.
Now you can start gathering these herbs! Right, be patient: If you are level 0-30 on gathering you will not always manage to succeed in gathering the herbs. Until you are level 30+ you won't be able to effectively gather many herbs. but when you do it's a synch.
This is the boring part but very effective: Gather those herbs for around 3-4 hours, you should collect around 200-400 herbs. Here's the easy part: Get a Mortar and pestle and just grind Herbalism to 60, if you have doubles of herbs with the same effect, mix them and get the level gain, it will cancel them out.
Now, once you hit level 60, gather up all the herbs that have one single effect left and just set them aside in a barrel or chest. Take all the herbs THAT DO NOT HAVE EFFECTS OR HAVE TWO EFFECTS LEFT TO BE DISCOVERED. Now, mix those herbs and before you mix them, write their names down, mix them and if they produce either: Flux / Naptha / Food flavoring; You are on the right tracks. beside their names write down what they produced, it will help narrow it further.
Once you discover the first flux herb, again before you mix it, write the name down and if you have doubles KEEP THEM, DO NOT MIX THEM. It is important to keep them, as exciting as it is, if you mix your remaining herbs you might not find your additional ones.
Keep a list handy: One made by a player here with names and images of each herb.

This is a long process and it takes time but it's the most effective in terms of gathering and mixing.

It is estimated that people can have around 4-6 flux recipes; this is important because that means there's between 8 and 12 herbs that can be mixed to make flux. Finding their name is the hard part, but once you have them you can gather as much as you want and just sit back and watch the flux flow into your inventory ( Just don't get caught with all that flux if you run into trouble *cough* Raiders and Bears *cough* )

Method 2: This is almost the exact same as the first method. Find all 4-6 flux recipes BUT, gather ALL herbs you find. Find local traders and ask them for their flux herbs. They too will be asking and it's the most effective way to get as much flux in a small amount of time. Doing this also assists other people in getting more flux which brings us to the last method.

Method 3: Simple and straight forward: steal it. What? Did you expect some form of get flux quick scheme? Well... It is kind of. But you will have to be careful about it. The best way to steal or loot it is:

Find a well established area with at least 3-4 people
Find their herbalist (either by spying or asking)
Leave their establishment and log where they are on the map
take as many members as you can to tackle the enemy: Remember the herbalist's name it will help
Force the herbalist to hand his flux over or KO/Kill him.

This isn't the best method but it's sure the most fun way! But be careful they could easily retaliate and attack back!
