Order of building: What you should do first

This is going to be a small guide in which I explain the order of which I build my buildings! I will be going through it from the beginning to the very end. Even on different servers this is my prime order of buildings to follow.

Firstly I find a good location which has defensive and offensive attributes: A hill or raised area of ground big enough to hold a medium sized fort. It also has to be abundant in resources: Trees, Stone, Clay, Iron/Copper. Basically find a good place that will have enough resources to last you.

Once you find that area, start by leveling your appropriate skills and also gathering material to make tools and construction preparation structures: Furnace, Kiln etc. My first job is to get as much leveling down as possible, so I Focus the building tree with terraforming, construction materials preparations, construction and masonry. (A handy trick to level your construction fast: Build wattle fences until level 15, then set down 4 anvil and forge signs. Gather the appropriate stone and only build the stone in. You will gather levels fast this way. Once you have done all 4 sign you can now de-construct. ) Now That I have done that, Start laying down some stone fences, level masonry up to 30 and start placing stone walls down and ONLY set the STONE in.

I now have level 60 in Terraforming, Construction and Level 90 in Masonry. (This does take time)

If for any reason you are scared you might get killed, find an area off-with your chosen area but close and build a tiny shack so you can respawn near your base.

Now that I have 4 (recommended) furnaces and 2 (recommended) Kilns and an Anvil and Forge ready. I can now make my metal tools! Once you have your metal shovel start flattening the area out to the plan you de

This is where we make a Monument: This will allow you to set all buildings to your claim and keep players out due to the trespassing effect once they step in your claim. Once you have build your monument (HOPEFULLY IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR AREA) you can now move onto the Warehouses!

Alright now we want to start placing down 1-2 warehouses, depending on what type you need: Plaster or Wooden. (Plaster Warehouse has 3000 units and a Wooden Warehouse has 5000 units of storage) The warehouses will provide ample storage and will provide protection from looters and greifers! Since the Warehouses are within your claim you will be able to allow only your clan/guild members to access them.

The next building you want to start construction on when you finish your Warehouses is the Large Stone House. This will provide ample enough home slots for your guild members! this will completely replace your shacks and now you can focus on other buildings from here.

The following buildings/Objects you want to construct now are:

    • Blacksmith
    • Barn
    • Small Stable
    • 2 Coops
    • Bloomery
    • Drying Racks
    • Tanning Tubs

Once you have Made: Warehouses and a Large Stone House you can start the construction of other buildings and the outline of your walls; Palisade or Stone walls. This is my own personal setup for when I start building in an area! If you have a better setup or method please share it so we can compare!
